The greatest ideas do not come from within

After a few frustrating hours writing, deleting and re-writing attempts at a blog post, I few things have become clear.
In order to be inspired, one needs arousal beyond one's own mind. In order to be contemplative or think creatively, one needs inspiration from things beyond one's control. Having a barrier between your mind and the world around you means other people's precious points of view are lost. The world isn't that beautiful, it's people's perceptions that can paint a million pictures. Even the best writers cannot write wholly from their own mind.
