First, but not necessarily best

Wherever you live, whatever your political views, have you ever wondered about how much your vote counts? If you're at all politically aware, and have ever voted or intend to, I'm going to make a little assumption that you may have taken it for granted that your vote will count equally. Well, that's not true. If you look at the current system of voting, first past the post, you will see that only one third of MPs have 50% of backing from their constituents, and some have as little as 30%. Some of these votes also would have been cast tactically, and some votes won't have counted because they were from an area of core voters of a different party. The truth is, despite living in a democracy, the voting system that we have in the UK is far from democratic. However, we're getting the chance to vote for a new voting system, the Alternative Vote, which is a vast improvement on the first past the post system our democracy currently relies on.
I won't go on for too long, but if you'd prefer your vote to count, if you'd prefer your MP to work more transparently, and have a better relationship with you, have a look at the AV vote, there's no shortage of information on the matter online.
The main problem I've encountered whilst campaigning, is the level of political apathy people hold, which in turn means people have little hope for any reform, it's a vicious circle.
However, if you'd like more information on the referendum, let me know! If not, vote for it anyway and do those that do care, a better chance at having a more representative presence in Parliament. This is the first chance we've ever had in UK history to shake up the employment in Parliament, don't waste it :)
